2020 Campground Themed Weekends & Special Events

May 1 – 3: Campground opens for the season. 
                   Cinco de Mayo!  Join our 2020 staff as we wrap up our orientation on 5/2 with a Taco Bar! ($) and pinata!

May 8 – 10:  Mothers Day:  Saturday PJs and pampering party for moms (and daughters).  May 9 is National Miniature Golf Day - Free mini golf all day!

May 15 – 17:  Triple Crown Weekend:  We'll celebrate Thoroughbred horse racing this weekend while the Belmont Stakes is being held.  Design your own racing "silks", and race one of our "Bouncy" horses in the Michigan Oaks Acorn Run!
            ½ price camping for Canadian campers on Sunday May 17, in celebration of Victoria Day, Monday, May 18!  

May 22– 25:  Memorial Day Weekend:  POOL OPENS FOR THE SEASON!  The unofficial beginning of summer, this weekend was originally designated as a time to remember the men and women who lost their lives to defend our freedom.  Decorate your site to honor them for a chance to win a free night of camping as well as participate in our regular weekend activities:  Candy bar bingo, glo parade, crafts and the annual Indian River 500 Box Car Race!

May 29 – 31:  International Weekend:  The U.S. Has been called the great "melting pot"; celebrate our international diversity with crafts and games from other cultures.

June 5 - 7:  Back to Nature:  Camping is all about being outdoors, so we'll get back to nature with hikes and crafts and even some campfire cooking!  June 6 is National Trails Day; take a hike at nearby Andreae Preserve and experience the Nature Megaphone!

June 12-14:  Real Life Superheros:  This is our weekend to honor our real everyday heroes...policemen, state troopers, paramedics, 911 operators, firemen, DNR officers, electric linemen...the real men & women who put their own lives in danger to help the rest of us with emergencies!  50% off camping for anyone in one of these fields.

June 19 – 21:  Father's Day Weekend and Summer Kick-off Karnival:  Summer officially arrives on June 20th!  Join us for our own version of a back yard carnival with games, prizes,raffles, face painting and more!  A special ice cream social with free ice cream sundaes for dad!

June 21 – 27:  National Camping Week:  camp at least 2 nights between the 21st and the 26th and get one more night free!
June 26 – 28:  Doggie Days:  Start training Fido now!  This weekend is going to the dogs!  Dog agility courses, and even a doggie talent show!  Make your dog or cat a new toy or a homemade treat. 

July 1:  Canada Day:  Wear the red & white proudly!

July 3 - 5:  Independence Weekend : Get up early on the 4th and join us in Indian River to help decorate our wagon and ride in the Indian River 4th of July parade.   Round out the weekend with patriotic crafts, and a glo parade.

July 10 - 12:  Christmas in July:  All your favorite Christmas activities…
Make an ornament, decorate our tree.  Santa Claus will visit on Saturday evening and pass out gifts (parents please bring a gift, $10.00 or under, for Santa to give to your children).  We'll have a decorated site contest for a chance to win free camping, and we'll cap off Saturday evening with a quiet walk through the campground to view all the decorated sites.

July 17 - 19: Rad Reptiles:  Back by popular demand are Seth and Maryann Rock from Tropic Cove Pet Shop in Petoskey.  Together they will share their knowledge of reptiles with plenty of live specimens for you to meet up close & personal!  July 17th is National Hot Dog Day; join us around the group campfire circle between 5 – 7 pm for roasted hot dogs, chips, cole slaw and a drink ($3.00)

July 21:  National Ice Cream Day:  Yum!  Want to try making Ice Cream?

July 24 - 26: Mystery Weekend:  It's a us solve it when you get here!

July 31 – August 2:  Halloween Weekend: Spooktacular fun for the whole family! Join us for ghoulish games, crafts and trick or treating and a haunted....?

August 2:  National Water Balloon Day!  We'll be playing with water balloons all day!

August 3:  National Watermelon Day!  Join us after a day at the pool for a Watermelon Social;  savor one of summers favorite treats, and engage in a little friendly seed spitting contest if we can find melons with seeds!

August 7 – 9: Creepy Crawler Weekend: This weekend will be dedicated to all things bugs. Weather they fly, buzz, slide or crawl we love them all. Crafts, hikes, and of course bugs!

August 10th:  National S'mores Day!  Gather round the group campfire circle this evening for free s'mores!

August 14 – 16: Knights & Princesses:  Polish your armor and find your lady fair, for our first medieval weekend. Join the fun with royal crafts, cool costumes and a bouncy horse jousting tournament.

August 21 – 23 Back to School Bash:  Let's soak up the last bit of summer and  
kick off the school year right with fun activities, crafts and Candy Bar Bingo.

August 28 – 30:   Pirates & Mermaids: Ahoy! Treasure awaits those who seek it. We'll provide the clues and maps for you to go hunting...on your own! Who will find the hidden spoils? Who can yee trust the pirates or mermaids or are they all just scalawags?

September 4 – 7 Labor Day Weekend:  Wrap up your summer with an "instant replay" of some of the summer's favorite activities!    Late checkout on Monday at no charge. Daily activities end at noon on Monday.   Pool closes on Tuesday.

Sept. 11 – 13 Fabulous Fall Weekends:  Camp on the last 6 weekends
Sept. 18 – 20 of the season, leaving your rig on site between weekends, all for one
Sept. 25 – 27 low price!  Full hook-up =$250.00, Water & Electric = $225.00,
Oct. 2 – 4 Electric only = $200.00, Rustic sites = $175.00. No themes, but activities
Oct. 9 - 11 will be planned to keep the kids busy.                                                   

Oct. 2 - 4  Haunted Halloween I: Witches and Wizards Weekend   Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble. Join the wizarding world.  We'll have a potions demonstrations, spell writing contest, site decorating contest and trick-or-treat through the campground, and great Halloween crafts!  Haunted campground ... beware!

Oct 9 – 11  Haunted Halloween II: The haunted woods and haunted house beckon to you... will you dare? More Halloween fun with creepy crafts, site decorating contest, trick-or-treat, and even a Magic Pumpkin Patch with prizes!

October 15:  Campground closes for the season.
